While this may look like a normal Mexican Jazz bass, it has a much more interesting history. This is a 1995 'Squier Series' bass. Sometime in the early 90s, one of the Fender Mexican factories burnt down, so production in the Ensenada factory had to get bodies and necks from the Fender USA plant to get back into production. So its as close to a USA made fender as you can get without truly being one. That being said, if you told me it was USA, I would agree. It plays and sounds exactly like a Jazz bass should. I rescued it from horrible condition from a Pawn Shop, needing to replace the nut, a tuner, and repair some large body gouges. It also had a horrendous backbow in the neck that took a week of reverse compression in a vice to fix.
