I tend to buy a lot of my guitars online, only using the sales images to make a decision. I am not really one to care about cosmetic issues with guitars, in fact, I prefer the beat up and, often, cheaper versions of a certain model. I bought this bass because Peavey makes great instruments, and I though the price was fantastic for what these usually go for. Buying it on Guitar Centers used website, I only had one... barely adequate... image showing off this bass on the listing. Not much to go on, but I got it anyway. Well, I figured out why it was priced so low... Someone converted it to fretless, VERY poorly at that. Now, I had sold a Fender fretless about a year before this, so I didn't mind adding it to the collection, but I was genuinely disappointed since I know how awesome (and increasingly more expensive) the fretted versions truly are.
Even with that, it is still one of the most INCREDIBLY beautiful guitars I own.
